SERIAN: Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus on Sunday (Feb 14) participated in Bukit Semuja Recreational and Sports Club’s (Buserec’s) motorcycle convoy to several villages.

This was part of his efforts to approach and understand the needs of the people in his constituency.

According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), this was aimed at surveying for himself the impact of the floods such as river bank erosion and road damage.

Ilus along with 15 convoy participants stopped by at six villages, namely Kampung Hulu, Kampung Hilir, Kampung Tebakang Melayu, Kampung Sorak Melayu, Kampung Sorak Sumpung and Kampung Slabi Entukuh.

He said he would make a report and contact the relevant agencies to take the appropriate action in order to overcome post-flood issues as soon as possible.

This is to prevent unwanted incidences among road users and residents living along the river banks which are badly affected.
