KUCHING: Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau said he will push for the implementation of the new Long San health clinic by getting in touch immediately with the Second Deputy Minister of Health Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang.
Aaron, who is also the Kanowit MP, was among the nine Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) MPs appointed to the new Federal Cabinet.
“The Long San clinic project was already approved in the Federal 2020 Budget. And there is no reason to delay it,” said Dennis.
He added he was happy to see Sarawakians were now part of the Health Ministry and the Rural Development Ministry. Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sum Agong was appointed as Second Deputy Minister in the Rural Development Ministry.
“Henry represents a rural constituency in our state and therefore, I am sure he fully understands what needs to be done in every rural area in Sarawak. We badly need huge amounts of funds to build basic infrastructure and amenities.
“This should make it easier for us to request for development projects for my constituency and all other rural constituencies in Sarawak,” he said.
Dennis said the last Pakatan Harapan (PH) government had failed miserably in addressing the issues of rural areas.
“The decision of our GPS top leaders led by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to accept the offer with conditions from Muhyiddin was not easy considering the state’s stand on certain important matters that we are still fighting for.
“But I am very sure there will be untold goodness and benefits for Sarawak by being part of the federal government cabinet. The nation’s politics will be stable and most importantly, it will ensure we achieve our mission in our fights for Sarawak’s rights,” he pointed out.
He said the mix of experienced and new and young leaders would guide the federal cabinet members not to repeat the last cabinet members’ endless mistakes during their two years’ reign.
“The new Malaysian government will boost confidence and attract International investors to come back and invest in our country,” he said.
