SARATOK: Any issues that cause delays in the construction of Bajau-Kupang Road must be resolved immediately so that its construction can begin in the near future.
Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri reiterated the call of the people who have been waiting patiently for years.
“I understand that the Public Works Department (JKR) is still in the design phase even though it is almost the middle of 2023.
“I really hope there is a solution to ensure this road can be built this year,” he said when asked about the status of the Bajau-Kupang Road after attending an Aidilfitri Friendship and Bonding 2023 ceremony at the Kampung Kupang multipurpose hall, yesterday.
For the time being, he explained, he will continue to ask JKR to maintain the old road for the convenience of the residents.
“I use the road, and I understand that the road is bumpy.
“Therefore, until the construction work starts later, I request the courtesy of JKR to carry out maintenance. At least the road is not too potholed,” he said.
At the event, Mohamad announced an allocation under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) of RM250,000 to upgrade the village drains.
In addition, he also presented grants amounting to RM15,000 to a mosque and RM5,000 to the village surau .
