SARIKEI: Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii’s service centre in Repok has distributed 654 pairs of school shoes to students at SK Methodist Anglo-Chinese and SJK (C) Kwang Chien here today (June 6).
Huang, who also serves as both Sarikei MP and Repok assemblyman, said in a statement that the contribution aimed to help ease the burden on parents, adding that he would continue to implement educational welfare programmes to assist the local community.
He has been actively supporting the education sector by providing school uniforms, shoes, and bags to primary and secondary school students in the Repok area.
Meanwhile, the school administrations expressed their gratitude for his ongoing support, including the upgrading of school facilities through his Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) funding to ensure a conducive learning environment.
