KUCHING: Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) President, Dato Posa Haji Majais confirmed that they will reshuffle the state players with medium-scale performance.
The approach should be done as soon as possible to avoid defeat in the remaining matches of second round of Super League 2017.
According to Posa, the reshuffle will be focused on the upfront due to poor performance shown by the strikers.
“We will reshuffle the players and this action is necessary to address the problem of more losses.
“Our focus is directed to the attack position, taking into account the lackluster performance shown by existing players,” he said when met after the end of the second quarter-final of the FA Cup 2017 match at the State Stadium in Petra Jaya, here, last Friday.
He was apparently disappointed with the performance shown by the strikers, especially import players who seemed unable to carry out their tasks.
“What I can say here is that our existing imports will be changed as soon as the transfer window opens on May 15.
“We are awaiting the report from our coaching staff before making the final decision,” he said, adding that some local players will also be dropped.
In the match played last Friday night, Sarawak failed to advance to semi-finals of FA Cup 2017 after losing 1-4 to Terengganu in a penalty shootout after they drew 1-1 during the 120-minute match.
Terengganu were in front with a goal by Issey Farran Morgan Nakajima in the early 9th minute before Demerson Bruno Costa equalised in the 79th minute.
