KOTA KINABALU: The minor reshuffling of the portfolios in the state Cabinet is based on suitability and there is no problem to implement it, said Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.
He said the change in the portfolios was not a big issue and it was just a mere miscommunication.
“Changes can happen based on suitability… no problem,” he told a press conference at his residence in Luyang here today.
The reshuffle involved Bung Moktar and Sabah Bersatu deputy chief Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
During the swearing-in ceremony of the 16th Sabah Chief Minister at the Istana Negeri this morning, Bung Moktar, who is also Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman, was announced as the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Local Government and Housing.
However, at a press conference this afternoon, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Mohd Noor who is also state Perikatan Nasional chairman announced Bung Moktar as Deputy Chief Minister I and he will be swapping his portfolio with Masidi’s Works Ministry.
Masidi now holds the Second Finance Minister and Local Government and Housing Minister posts.
Bung Moktar said the priority of the new state government was to serve the people.
“We are happy that we are part of the government, we will work together and I am very confident that the new Sabah government will last a long time,” he said. – Bernama
