LUNDU: The long-awaited moment for the residents of this area finally arrived when land ownership documents under Section 18 of the State Land Code were handed over to 377 landowners yesterday (Nov 16).
The ceremony, officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, marked a significant milestone for the local residents here.
Several recipients share their thoughts on receiving the land ownership documents.

After more than 50 years of pursuing this land ownership application, I finally got the result today. It is an invaluable asset for our family.
ROSITA JIRIEN
This is a very meaningful day because we finally have the ownership letter that we have been waiting for so long. I will continue with plans to achieve the dream of building a house and a garden on this land.
SAIMA KTALENG
I am incredibly happy now that I have this ownership letter because this land is my father’s legacy. Despite the long time it took to get this letter, especially due to COVID-19, the government’s efforts to expedite the process are highly commendable. Now, I don’t have to hesitate to cultivate paddy here as well as to build a house on the land.
SALLEH MORNI
This land is very valuable and essential for future use. I will take care of this land as best as I can. Not forgetting, I express my gratitude to the government for granting this land ownership.
