JULAU: Residents at Rh Langan, Serau Lijan have been advised to remain vigilant following a landslide that occurred next to one of the houses yesterday (Apr 17).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that firefighters from Bintangor station were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call at around 6.30 am.
Upon arrival, the team found that a landslide affected an area of 30 square metres, next to the house.
The distance between the landslide and the house is about five metres, and the incident caused damages to two chicken coops.
Aside from that, the collapsing ground also blocked the culvert leading to Julau Engkamop’s main road and the obstruction could lead to an erosion and potential collapse on the main road of Julau Engkamop.
The team acted swiftly by installing hazard warning tapes and advised the residents to steer clear of the collapsed area.
Residents were also instructed to take precautionary measures and report any signs of impending landslides promptly.
