SIMANGGANG: A restaurant here carried out its corporate social responsibility by distributing angpow to the less fortunate members of society.

The management of Golden City Restaurant brought cheer to residents of Datuk Ajibah Abol Children’s Home and Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (PPDK) Taman Sri Jaya by giving out gift of money packed into red packets in conjunction its 10th anniversary and the upcoming Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration.

Restaurant manager Lily Chin Li Li said the management is happy to share its profits with ‘special people’.

“Apart from appreciating our loyal customers, the 10th anniversary and fundraising dinner is held to share our joy together with the special kids.

“We would not forget the less fortunate especially during the festive season.

“That being said, we are honoured to prepare the feast and present angpow to the children’s home and PPDK Taman Sri Jaya,” she said.

The anniversary celebration was officiated by Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis who was accompanied by his wife Datuk Simba Nalang.

Around 450 people attended the ceremony.

Also present was Bukit Begunan assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagan and Sri Aman District Social Welfare Department officer Vivian Engkiong.
