SERIAN: Veterans of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) continued to be served after their retirement from the service.
The Veteran Affairs Department set up a mobile counter to serve these retirees for them to apply for aid and seek advice.
On Saturday, the mobile counter was at Serian Community Hall where it served some 350 veterans.
Among the services offered were applications for ‘Bantuan Sara Hidup’ (BSH), ‘Bantuan Peralatan Pesakit & Rawatan’, Higher Education Learning aid and applications for the Malaysian Service Medal and Veteran Card.
Earlier last month, the department opened their moving counters at Sibu and at Gua Pari-Pari, Bau and benefitted more than 400 veterans.
