SIBU: The desire to help the public has prompted retired nurse Margaret Wong to work at the industrial vaccination centre located at University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS).
Wong, who has been working as a nurse since 1977, said she was very happy to be given the opportunity to help the frontliners in their efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19.
“This is the time to devote myself to the community.
“Hopefully, my experience of more than 40 years as a nurse can help smoothen the vaccination process in Sibu.
“Sibu residents who have yet to register themselves for the vaccination should do so immediately because we want to achieve herd immunity soon,” stressed the 65-year-old, who now serves as an instructor at SEGi University Sibu clinical campus, when met by reporters.
Wong’s friends, who used to work as nurses, are also helping at the centre.
It is expected that about 14,000 industrial sector workers (including their family members) will receive their jabs at UCTS.
