SADONG JAYA: The constituents here were told to return their incumbent assemblyman Aidel Lariwoo in the upcoming state election.
In making the call, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) permanent chairman Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar said Aidel has a good track record since he was elected in 2011.
He said with his image of being an effective leader and a man of integrity, the Sadong Jaya assemblyman was appointed as Sarawak Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman.
“I did not hesitate to come to Sadong Jaya area, because we want him to be chosen again to be a candidate here. And I also want to see your YB (Aidel) take the oath again in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN),” he said.
Asfia, who is DUN Speaker, said this when speaking at a leader-with-people programme in conjunction with the presentation of mosque and surau donations for Sadong Jaya at Masjid Darul Iman here today.
Asfia noted that Sadong Jaya has been a PBB stronghold since Sarawak achieved independence in 1963.
“I hope the people in Sadong Jaya can give a big victory to Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the upcoming state election.
“Aidel’s performance as an assemblyman is ‘A-Plus’, because of that, we also ask him to stand here again for the next term,” he said.
Asfia is confident that with strong support from the community to the state government, it is no longer a question whether the GPS candidate would win.
“The question now is whether opposing candidates will lose their deposit money or not,” he said.
