KUCHING: Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders are pushing Sarawak to the wall and making lives for Sarawakians very difficult, hard and tough, said a political analyst Datuk Peter Minos.
He said PH leaders should know that without Sarawak and Sabah, there was no Malaysia.
He added up till now, the PH federal government had not fully restored and returned Sarawak’s powers under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) despite repeated pleas and requests.
“Up to now, Petronas has not entertained Sarawak’s requests for a 20 per cent royalty from Sarawak’s own oil and gas resources.
“Petronas has not even paid Sarawak the five per cent sale tax on petroleum products,” Minos said.
He said on top of the MA63 and Petronas issues, PH in the last one year or so had inflicted much pains and sufferings on Sarawak and these included the cutting off funds on already approved roads, bridges and other projects.
“Worst of all are the repeated threats by PH top leaders to topple GPS and Sarawak government in the coming election in 2021 or earlier,” added Minos.
“As Sarawak’s chief minister repeatedly said, Sarawakians do love and care for Malaysia but PH must not do things to destroy and break that love.”
He urged PH to rethink and review its attitude towards Sarawak.
