KUCHING: The exciting Rainforest Fringe Festival (RFF) 2018 will be held starting from 6 until 15 July this year.

This was announced by Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah during a press conference at his ministry’s office in Baitulmakmur, Petra Jaya, yesterday.

“After a successful inaugural festival last year, this year RFF is expected to reveal a wide range of cultural, contemporary, and traditional events representing Sarawak’s exciting, complex and many-layered identities,” said Karim.

The 10-day festival will feature both local and international artists, performers, designers, photographers, and speakers that will take place at certain places namely Waterfront Godown Amphitheatre, Kuching Old Court House, Borneo 744 and others.

“Sarawak has so much to offer. Apart from ecotourism, it is also renowned for its diverse cultural identities and traditions.

“The RFF is all about Sarawak and is for everyone. It will be an exciting time for all to come together and be immersed in art, nature, history, tradition, culture and fun,

“This year’s RFF will be an all-inclusive and a complete sensorial experience,” said Festival Director, Joe Sidek.

Also involved in the performances are New York-based dancer and choreographer, Raziman Sarbini; the first Malaysian to win the Miss World Talent title in 2014 Dewi Liana Seriestha; Taiwan’s Actor Hao-Hsiang Hsu and others.

Numerous other activities also featured include fashion show, craft sales, traditional food sales, exhibition and others.
