MIRI:  A rare and exciting sight greeted visitors at the Miri Indoor Stadium early this morning as the official mascots of the 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma) when a pair of Rhinoceros hornbills named ‘Satria’ and ‘Satriana,’ made an unexpected appearance.

The majestic birds were spotted on the roof of the stadium, where the pencak silat tournament semifinals are currently underway.

The hornbills, symbolic creatures revered in Sarawakian culture, drew immediate attention from the crowd.

Excited spectators rushed outside to capture videos and photographs of the pair, adding an unexpected thrill to the day’s events.

The birds were first seen around 8 am and remained perched on the roof for about half an hour before flying away.

The appearance of ‘Satria’ and ‘Satriana’ has sparked speculation and excitement among the attendees.

Many are wondering if this is a sign of good fortune, a positive omen that could indicate the Sarawak are destined to emerge as the overall champions.
