KUALA LUMPUR: Richiamo Coffee Sdn Bhd, the licensee of the Richiamo Coffee premium coffee shop chain, is aggressively expanding its wings nationwide with a target to have 100 outlets by the end of this year.

Managing director Muhamad Zamry Abu Samah said there were 42 Richiamo Coffee branches already operating nationwide and the company intended to open 55 more new branches, including in Sabah and Sarawak.

“After Hari Raya, we will have an additional 15 outlets which are currently undergoing renovation and are expected to be completed in a month or two.

“The company will also collaborate with a large organisation in Malaysia, which more or less (we will then have Richiamo outlets) in each district. They will be our master licensor,” he told reporters after the buka puasa with the media event yesterday.

Muhamad Zamry declined to comment further on the organisation, but said a memorandum of understanding would be signed after Aidilfitri.

Among the new branch locations are in Desaru, Batu Pahat, Sungai Petani and Perai, he said. Commenting on the competition in the market, he said although the Richiamo Coffee brand was only five years old, there was a high demand for its products.

He said the menu on offer was unique and varied, a mix of international and local, making customers feel ‘closer’.

“Pricing also plays a key role, our coffee price is 45 per cent lower than the rest of competitors without affecting the quality given,” he explained.

Looking ahead, Muhamad Zamry hopes the Richiamo Coffee brand will penetrate international markets including Brunei, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Uzbekistan as well as Medina and Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

“Before the pandemic, there were several discussions to open branches in several foreign countries. However, due to the constraints of Covid-19 we had to stop this planning temporarily,” he added. – Bernama
