BAU: A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident after his bike had gone out of control and collided with an oncoming car on KM13, Jalan Bau-Lundu on Monday.
The victim was identified as Mathias O’Neil Patrus Nile Kadap, 31, from Kampung Stenggang, Bau.
Sarawak traffic police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the incident happened around 5pm when both vehicles were travelling in opposite directions.
The accident occurred when the victim travelling from Lundu arrived at a sharp curve. Apparently, the bike diverged and collided with a car on the opposite lane.
“As a result of the collision, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics whereas the driver was unharmed,” he said.
The body was taken to Bau Hospital and the case is investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
