MERADONG: A tragic four-vehicle collision near Taman Alomara here, claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Tuesday (Feb 27)
Meradong police chief DSP Sekam Anoi said that the accident, which occurred around 5 pm, involved a lorry and three motorcycles – a Honda Wave, a Honda C100, and a Yamaha Ego SI.
He said the collision occured when the lorry, traveling towards Bintangor, veered off course.
“The left tyre of the lorry crossed into the left side of the road, causing the vehicle to skid into the opposite lane and collide with the three motorcycles heading towards Taman Bintang.
“As a result, the Honda Wave rider was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said in a statement.
The body was transported to the hospital for further procedures. The case is being investigated under the Road Transport Act 1987.
It was reported that the other riders sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for further treatment. The extent of their injuries was not known.
