KUCHING: A local man succumbed to severe injuries after his motorcycle crashed and caught fire along Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce late last night (Sept 11).

Kuching police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the 25-year-old victim was riding towards Jalan Satok from Jalan Stakan before losing control of his vehicle.

“Investigations revealed that the accident happened around 11.20 pm when his motorcycle skidded out of control and crashed into a tree at the roadside.

“The impact threw the victim onto the left side of the road, and the motorcycle caught fire.

“The victim was rushed to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) emergency ward, where he was pronounced dead at 12.07 am this morning,” he said in a statement.

Mohd Farhan said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
