SERIAN: Serian MP Datuk Seri Richard Riot said he was prepared to face the possibility of a snap general election anytime.
“If the Parliament were to be dissolved, I am prepared to stand again. I am still fit and healthy for the next round,” he said.
He was fielding a question from reporters during a press conference after officiating at a road naming ceremony here on Wednesday.
Asked on his thoughts regarding the possibility of a snap general election, Riot said that he was in the dark on the matter.
“We can see in the social and mainstream media that there are some reports that are true and some that’s not.
“Your guess is as good as mine. But I do know that the current political situation in Malaya is fluid.
“I am sure that the Prime Minister (Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) knows what he’s doing,” said Riot who is also the prime minister’s special envoy to Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
He is currently serving his seventh term as Serian MP. Previously, he was the minister of Human Resources in former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s cabinet.
