SELANGAU: Classes at SK Kuala Lemai were suspended due to rising water levels caused by heavy rainfall in the district.

Selangau Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Lt Luke Douglas Dongum said that a team was promptly dispatched to monitor flood-prone locations following heavy rainfall.

Upon arrival at SK Kuala Lemai, the team observed the river at high tide, with water levels ranging from 2.5 to 5 feet. The low-lying area of the school was flooded, impacting several buildings.

As a result, the school is currently non-operational, and students have been directed to leave due to escalating water levels on the premises.
