ROBAN: The Sarawak government, through the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), is developing a riverbank embankment project to prevent severe erosion along the Seblak River.

Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri said the construction of the project addresses crucial safety issues.

He added that in September, the project site will become a focal point for the public during the boat race held in conjunction with the Roban Food Festival.

“Therefore, through the RTP allocation, we (the government) are building an embankment to prevent erosion on the banks of the Seblak River, Roban with the objective of preventing further damage to the riverbank due to soil erosion.”

He said this after inspecting the Seblak River embankment project here today.

He said that field activities are a commitment to ensure that every development project can be completed with quality and according to the set schedule.

Mohamad stressed that public safety is a top priority.

“This is the priority, and surely once this project is completed, it will provide greater comfort to festival visitors.”
