KUCHING: Indonesian artiste Rizky Febian wanted to make a good impression in his debut outing at the Kuching Jazz Festival and he did not disappoint when he took to the stage on Saturday.

The singer thrilled the audience with several tracks including Makna Cinta, Cuek, Hingga Tua Bersama, ultimately concluding with the energetic yet soulful Penantian Berharga.

At a Meet and Greet with Rezky Febian press conference an hour before his performance, he had hoped he would live up to expectations. And he delivered.

He also hoped that next year he will be able to do a concert together with his wife, Mahalini, who is also a well-known Indonesian singer.

“Let’s pray that we can organise an extraordinary event next year,” he said.

The show started with the local Sarawakian band, the Improviser, working the stage despite the rain and the audience enjoyed the performance.

It was followed by Fazz, composed of keyboard and piano player Heewon Cho, drummer Azad Khiruddin, wind instruments Aabid Aafiat, bass Raja Farouk, and vocalist Tan Yon Lynn who captivated the audience with their energetic cover of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious by Mary Poppins.
