KUCHING: Nine different houses of worship received grants amounting to RM1.015 million from the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor).
Minister in charge of Unifor Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah handed the grants over to the Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian at his office on Thursday (Nov 11).
In Kuching, the five houses of worship which received the grants were Guan Yi Gong Buddhist Association, Teachew Association, Sungai Apong Shieng Seng Temple, Sri Srinivasagar Kaliaman Temple and Sarawak Blessed Church.
Zion Methodist Church, the construction of Learning Centre of Sarawak Bahi’s Charitable Trust and En Tao Methodist Church (SCAC) in Sibu and Pertubuhan Ugama Buddha Miri also received the grants from Unifor.
