BINTULU: A new permanent building of Pasar Tamu Sungai Plan, Tg. Kidurong, some 16.2km from here was yesterday officially declared open by Samalaju Assemblyman, Majang Renggi.

General Manager of Bintulu Development Authority (BDA), Rodziah Morshidi disclosed that the RM1.47 million Pasar Tamu has 190 lots for daily traders to start selling agricultural, meat and fishery products and also as food and beverage outlets.

In a brief opening ceremony, Majang urged the traders to work closely with the authority in keeping and maintaining the cleanliness, healthy business practices and a safe environment through community participation in making the newly completed PasarTamu as another landmark around Kidurong commercial and industrial centre and a better town.

He hoped that the new market will be popular with many visitors mainly around the Tg. Kidurong industrial zone who like to buy agricultural produce and daily needs apart from meeting and interacting with each other.

“We must always portray a positive image of our town and preserve our unity, multi-cultural, multi-religious and racial harmony because it belongs to all of us,” he said.
