SRI AMAN: The Sarawak government has allocated RM1.5bil to the Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA) for development initiatives in the area.

SADA chairperson Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim said the primary focus of the allocation is on enhancing transportation infrastructure, including the upgrade and construction of road networks to enhance connectivity in the area.

“A well-established transportation network will further facilitate the implementation of other projects, including connecting electrical supplies, providing water to rural areas, and easing the execution of initiatives like opening tourist centres in the area.”

She was speaking at the SADA roadshow programme with community leaders and village chiefs (KMKK) in Pantu recently.

Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, who was also present at the event, announced a planned project to upgrade the water pump at the Pantu Water Treatment Plant.

The estimated cost for this project is RM1.4mil, and it aims to improve water supply to areas that are yet to receive clean water.
