LUNDU: The town here will witness major changes in terms of infrastructure when the upgrading projects of the 30-year-old Pusat Penjaja Jubli Perak reach completion in nine months.
The cost of the project is RM1.5mil and managed by Syarikat Arkitek Gayasari through implementation agency of Lundu District Council (LDC).
Tanjong Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu said the project would contribute to the development of Lundu town and help entrepreneurs.
“It is a project inspired by the late Tok Nan (former chief minister) to be carried out and I proceeded with his plan for the Chinese community in Lundu town,” she said during her walkabout at the site on Thursday (June 18).
In addition, shophouses around the town square would also undergo changes.
A sum of RM30, 000 was donated to the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Lundu Town through Kapitan Tang Kheng Ang to paint and beautify the surroundings of the shophouses as a tourist attraction in line with the vision of ‘Towards making Lundu a natural beach city’.
Among those present were Lundu District officer Gustian Durani, LDC secretary Norashikin Brahim, Pemanca Benjamin Gersit Jais and Penghulu Chin Kian Ming.
