He said RM1million is for the construction of the multiple purpose hall which will be sited next to the village mosque and RM600,000 for upgrading of the hawkers’ centre. Works on the projects will begin sometime this year.
Lo said the Kuching District Office will be the implementing agency for the projects.
“I will communicate with the District Office on the appointment of the project technical agency,” said Lo.
He urged the villagers to work closely with their community leaders (penghulu and ketua kampung) as well as with the project’s implementing agency to ensure smooth implementation of the projects.
He also advised the villagers to make good use of the facilities when they are completed such as trading at the hawkers’ centre to earn extra income. Meanwhile penghulu Saptuyah Yusuf thanked the government and Lo for the projects.
He said the villagers have been waiting for the multipurpose hall for over 20 years.
“Our village is very near to the town (Kota Sentosa) and Kuching City but is without the multipurpose hall,” he said.
