MIRI: Senadin assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin recently approved a grant of RM10,000 to the Northern Sarawak Journalist Association (NSJA) for their English online journalism course.
The course, set to take place at Curtin University Sarawak, aims to enhance the English proficiency of local journalists, empowering them with better communication skills.
During the programme’s working committee courtesy call on him yesterday (Apr 2), Senadin assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin announced the allocation of the RM10,000 grant under his Minor Rural Project (MRP) initiative.
The courtesy visit was led by its president Chai Chon Chin, the programme’s organising chairlady Margaret Ringgit and Michelle Choo.
“This grant aims to support NSJA’s project that will benefit participants of the programme,” Lee, who is the Minister of Transport Sarawak, said.
Meanwhile Margaret said NSJA is poised to engage its members in a transformative learning experience via this course.
“Tailored specifically for journalists, the course will empower members with advanced English language proficiency, enabling them to excel in their reporting,” she said.
The English online course, to be conducted at Curtin University Sarawak Campus Miri, is scheduled to commence in July.
