KUCHING: An allocation of RM102,000 from the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) to SK Sacred Heart, Semeba will be utilised to establish five classrooms equipped with digital technology.
Headmistress Magdelene Lilawati noted that this is part of the school’s efforts to enhance progress in the field of education, especially in the aspect of digitalisation at the primary school level.
“Currently, SK Sacred Heart has three classrooms equipped with digital technology equipment. Therefore, we still need seven to eight more classrooms to accommodate 214 students from pre-school to Year 5 in our school.”
Magdalene said this to the media after the presentation of the cheque to the school, witnessed by Batu Kitang assemblyman Datuk Lo Khere Chiang, at the latter’s service centre, on Tuesday (Jan 2).
At the same time, she also expressed hope that the Sarawak government could construct a new building at SK Sacred Heart to accommodate 12 pre-school students at the school.
“This is in response to the pre-school classrooms at SK Sacred Heart, Semeba, which currently share classrooms with the primary stream. We hope that a dedicated building for pre-school students will be optimally utilised.
“Having their own building or classrooms will allow the school to admit more pre-school students.”
Also present were the chairman of the SK Sacred Heart School Management Board, Semeba cum village chief of Kampung Semeba, Thomas Gown.
