LUNDU: Funds amounting to RM110,000 have been allocated for comprehensive social development in Kampung (Kpg) Raso 1.

Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang stated that of the amount, RM60,000 had been earmarked for upgrading the parking facilities at  its multipurpose hall while RM50,000 had been allocated to enhance the Women’s Bureau building in the village.

“This does not include additional funding from the Unit of Other Religions (UNIFOR), which I have applied for, totalling RM798,000 to rebuild the St. Louis Catholic Church in Kpg Raso 1.

“This is because the initial allocation of RM200,000 for phase 1 is insufficient for this purpose,” he said during his speech at Kpg Raso 1 charity dinner at Kpg Raso 1 Multipurpose Hall here recently.

Billy added that the RM60,000 allocation provided this year for upgrading the hall was still insufficient.

However, he urged the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) to utilise the current allocation before considering additional funding for the next year.
