KAPIT: The government has approved RM15 million to build a road to Sungai Stapang, Batang Rajang here.
This was disclosed by Bukit Goram Assemblyman, Jeffeson Jamit Unyat at a ‘Leaders Meet The people Session’ and ‘Ngiling Bidai’ (Gawai closing) ceremony at Rumah Richard Unggat, Nanga Stapang Ili, Batang Rajang here, recently.
Tuai Rumah Richard Unggat in his speech requested for an iron bridge to be built spanning Sungai Stapang to his longhouse. He also requested for a government grant to renovate the verandah of the 20-door longhouse.
During the event, Jamit also approved a RM20,000 grant for the longhouse JKKK and RM3,000 for the longhouse Women’s Bureau.
Jamit was accompanied by Administrative Officer of Kapit District Office, Wan Mohammad Shukri, chief clerk of Kapit District office, James Sandak, Pemanca Enggin Nyipa, Penghulu Nalong Daga, Penghulu Pasang Tuba and a dozen village chiefs along Sungai Stapang.
