SIMUNJAN: Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri Cup 2017 futsal competition will be held at Padang Central Simunjan from April 22 to May 21.
The champions will take home a cash prize of RM2,000, a trophy and medals.
Second place will receive RM1,500, a trophy and medals, third place will take home RM1,000, a trophy and medals and fourth place will receive RM500 and medals.
The organising chairman, Mohammad Zaini Morshidi said participation is limited to 32 teams and open to any teams but the players must be aged 16 years and above.
The top two teams in each group will qualify into the knockout round.
“The tournament is the idea of Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri, who is the Batang Sadong Member of Parliament and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department as she wanted to see the youths in the area active in sports,” he said in a press release recently.
“Nancy will officiate the opening ceremony on April 22,” he added.
Organised by the Saberkas Simunjan Branch and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera (PBB) Simunjan branch, the tournament will be played in a league format in groups where each team must list the total of eight players.
