KUCHING: The villagers will be repairing potholes in three gravel lanes at Kampung Beradau near Siburan on a “gotong royong” basis soon.

The village head Davinson Davis recently received a cheque for RM2,000 from Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Deputy Minister Chong Chieng Jen to buy gravels to repair the lanes.

The cheque was presented by Chong’s political secretary Sanjan Daik.

Sanjan went to see the roads after being informed by the villagers.

He said Kampung Beradau was quite a young village, formed by people who moved from Kampung Duras and Kampung Sungai Du-uh. They decided to reside there to be nearer to their farms.

There are about 70 families with more than 300 people living in the village.

Kampung Beradau enjoys a 24-hour electricity and treated water supply.
