KUCHING: Works on the repainting and improvement of the Kota Sentosa Wet Market, costing RM200,000, has begun and is expected to take about one month to complete. Earlier, SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief and Majlis Perbandaran Padawan (MPP) Standing Committee Chairman for Market & Licencing, Cr Wilfred Yap, said he was approached by the hawkers at Kota Sentosa Wet Market asking him to highlight their request and assist with application for development funds from the government to carry out repainting and improvement works for the market.

Yap said he had earlier raised the matter up during the MPP monthly meeting and hopes that some of the hawkers who are temporarily relocated will cooperate with the contractors to ensure that the works will be completed on schedule and he will continue to follow up and monitor the improvement and repainting works at Kota Sentosa Wet Market until all the works are completed by the contractors to the satisfaction of all parties.
