KAPIT: Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit presented grants amounting to RM222,000 to 36 bodies here.
The recipients comprised government department social welfare clubs, recreation and sports clubs, non-governmental organisations, longhouse village security and development committees, parent-teacher associations and religious institutions.
“The government acknowledges the presence of the many associations and clubs here. You have proven to be relevant in our society, organising various activities for the benefit of your members.
“As such, as the elected people’s representative, I appreciate your efforts in looking after the interests of your members,” said Jamit.
He urged the recipients to spend the allocation wisely to benefit the members.
