RM290,000 allocated by Unifor to religious institutions in Lundu

LUNDU: Grants amounting to RM290,000 from the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) were allocated to various religious institutions in the constituency. 

The list of recipients included the Good Shepherd Church, Kampung Perigi Temple, Lundu Chung Hua Association, and Kampung Pueh Lundu Joint Committee of the Christian Cemetery. 

The contribution was presented by Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan at the Tanjong Datu Service Centre here recently. 

A sum of RM10,000 was handed over to the Good Shepherd Church in Kampung Pueh for repair and renovation work to convert the church storage area into a Sunday School room. 

Additionally, RM50,000 was allocated for the enhancement of the Chinese Temple in Kampung Perigi Lundu.

RM150,000 was directed to the Joint Committee of the Christian Cemetery in Kampung Pueh for the renovation and repair of the new Christian cemetery land, while RM80,000 was presented to the Lundu Chung Hua Association’s Cemetery Committee.

Meanwhile, Azizul attended a meeting of youngsters from the constituency to establish the Interim Youth Wing of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) in Tanjong Datu.

He expressed hope that the formation of this new Interim Youth Wing will become an active platform not only for political engagement but also for imparting knowledge and leadership qualities to the youth, aiming to nurture future leaders in both the party and the community.
