BINTANGOR: The Sarawak government has allocated RM3.5 million under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) Special Grant to build a haemodialysis centre in the Sungai Tulai here.

Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing said the project will include 12 dialysis beds, two dialysis machines, and additional equipment.

“This project is great news for kidney patients and reflects the Sarawak government’s commitment to ease the people’s burden, not just in Bintangor but also in surrounding districts,” he said.

Ding said this during a meeting with representatives from the Sarikei Division Land and Survey Department and the Sarikei Division Public Works Department (JKR) at the Meradong District Office here on Wednesday (July 24).

During the meeting, Ding also addressed issues related to the construction of a road stretch at KM 6 Jalan Kelupu Bintangor, calling for more streetlights and the immediate tarring of the gravel roads at both junctions.

Following the meeting, Ding led a site visit to the Sungai Tulai Haemodialysis centre.
