KAPIT: Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi last Thursday allocated RM30,000 under his minor rural project (MRP) fund to Kapit District Council.
It was to fund the hosting of Pesta Dabai Song organised earlier this year from March 6 to March 8 at Song Bazaar.
At hand to present the grant on behalf of Nanta was the Deputy Walikota of the council Watson Awan. The grant ceremony was held at the council building.
Receiving the grant cheque on behalf of the council was the Walikota of the council Lating Minggang witnessed by the council’s secretary Jabang Juntan and assistant secretary Kelimbik Sibat.
Nanta who is also Kapit MP officiated at the closing of the fest on March 8.
The annual Pesta Dabai Song was first organised by the Kapit District Council in 2018 as the main tourist attraction event to highlight Song district’s iconic seasonal fruit “Dabai”. Song produces the state’s best “dabai”.
