KUCHING: The Sarawak government has allocated RM5 million for healthcare incentives for patients in need of medical assistance at its soon to be operating Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) Primary Health Care Centre.
UNIMAS Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Ahmad Hata Rasit, said that the endowment was stated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg during their courtesy call on his office.
He added various aspects related to the opening of the health centre have also been presented to the Premier for his information.
“The health centre is expected to be completed in April or May, subject to the Public Works Department (PWD) and developers. So far, implementation has reached 99 per cent.
“This endowment will assist patients, particularly those around Samarahan suffering from cancer or other chronic diseases, in receiving treatment at our centre,” he said to the reporters after the courtesy call on the Premier at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here on Wednesday.
