ASAJAYA: The 51st edition of the Kampung Sambir’s Unity Cup will be back again this year on the third day of Hari Raya.
“Teams can register now with the fees of RM200 per team. No limit to the number of entries,” tournament’s chairman Jalek Jaafar said recently.
Also known as Sambir Cup, the tournament began in 1967.
This year champion will receive a cash prize of RM5,000, a championship trophy and medals.
The first runner up will bring home RM3,000, a trophy and medals while both semi-finals losers will receive RM1,500, a trophy and medals each as the joint third winners.
On Tuesday, a team of organisng committees led by Sambir Bistari Football Club patron, Abdullah Julaihi paid a courtesy call on Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah at his office in Kuching .
Also present were the club’s deputy chairman Ikhwan Busenak and secreatary Khaimi Dan.
