SRI AMAN: The people need to strengthen ties with community leaders, government officers and people’s representatives in their areas, said Deputy Home Minister, Dato Masir Kujat during an Aidilfitri celebration held at Nahdatul Islam Mosque, Kampung Melayu Tanjung Bijat near here, on Tuesday.
“Such ties are important to enable the people to request for programmes or financial allocations. Get rid of personal interests if you want to move forward. Don’t be easily influenced by certain quarters.
“Adopt a forward looking attitude. Give priority to your children’s future by ensuring that unity and racial harmony prevail for the benefit of the community in general,” he said.
Masir who is also Member of Parliament for Sri Aman also announced a grant of RM50,000 for the upgrading of the village community hall.
