DALAT: The Sarawak Women and Family Department (JWKS) hopes that recipients of the RM5,000 material grants provided by the department would fully utilise the assistance to enhance their economic wellbeing.
Its director Noriah Ahmad said the idea to introduce the JWKS entrepreneurs grant was mooted by Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Fatimah Abdullah
She added the materials were bought by the department as requested by the applicants and specially delivered to them.
“Their applications were approved according to their respective request in their efforts to improve quality and productivity,” she said at the presentation of ‘JWKS Entrepreneurs Material Grants’ at Stadium Perpaduan Dalat here yesterday.
Fatimah who is also Dalat assemblywoman handed over the material grants to 40 recipients.
According to Noriah, the recipients would also be trained to prepare them for digital economy.
She added after being trained, it is hoped that they would be ready to enter the global market and conduct business online and take advantage of the Sarawak Pay service.
