MUKAH: Twenty-one organisations in Balingian constituency received minor rural projects (MRP) grants totalling RM65,000 last Thursday.
The recipients comprised 16 Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA), and one each for school management board for primary schools, Badan Muafakat Mukah Mara Junior Science College (MRSM), Headmasters Council Mukah District, Mukah community-based rehabilitation centre (PDK) and Mukah Resident and District Office Sports and Recreation Club (Rando).
Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi said this was the second time the handover of MRP grants being done this year.
He added the grants would assist the recipients in organising activities that had been planned for the benefits of those concerned.
“I hope the grants would be used wisely especially in assisting the schools in facing the Covid-19 pandemic and movement control order (MCO) which is currently in the recovery phase,” he said at the handover of the grants ceremony at Menara Pehin Setia Raja here on Thursday.
Mukah district officer Shaferi Saili and Mukah district education officer Salemah Chali also attended the event.
