Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil handed over the cheques to 64 recipients representing their respective associations at the Padawan Sub-District Office, today.

The Deputy Minister for Transport, also encouraged the public to apply for such grants to launch their activities and other organised items.

“The application is not limited to religious purposes only, but covers various aspects including the management of the association’s annual activities, upgrading of existing equipment and related matters.

“However, I would like to urge people who want to apply for funds to plan as soon as possible and submit applications by June every year.

“It is to ensure that the application can be processed and prepared in the near future,” he said in his speech before handing over the cheques.

At the same time he also advised the public to make an orderly and complete list that includes getting confirmation from community leaders or associations to ensure that applications are received.

The assemblyman also stressed that the public should include the correct account number in the application for the purpose of transferring money directly to the approved recipient.

“Once the funds have been handed over, it is hoped that the recipients will be able to use them as wise as possible,” he said briefly.

For the record, the recipients of the funds also involved village committees, associations, clubs, rehabilitation centres around the Mambong constituency.

The funds are meant to manage the annual activities of the association, activities involving youth and sports, welfare programmes, upgrading the infrastructure or equipment needed and others.
