BINTANGOR: An allocation of RM80,000 has been approved to upgrade a 2.55 km road which connects two longhouses here.

Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad said once the upgrading work is complete, residents at Rumah Panjang Bala and Rumah Margaret, Stubah here will be able to have better road access.

“Even though we have managed to connect this road, vehicles are still unable to pass through .

“Therefore, I raised this matter to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg after getting the paperwork from the Department of Drainage and Irrigation  (DID) Sarikei which was the executor of this project.

“Alhamdulillah, our application to implement upgrading works has been approved by him with an allocation of RM80,000,” he said, adding that the road will be connected to the main road from Sibu to Tanjung Manis.

He said this when attending the Majlis Pemimpin Bersama Rakyat and Majlis Ngiling Bidai 2022 for Rumah Panjang Sungai Stubah, on Sunday (June 26).
