MUKAH: The Royal Malaysia Police announced road closure on August 30 and August 31 in conjunction with National Day Eve Celebration and Unity Ride and Walk programme.
According to a statement issued yesterday, on Aug 30 the road closure here would begin from 5 pm until the celebration is over.
“While for the Unity Ride and Walk programme on Aug 31, the road closure will begin from 5 am until the programme is over,” it said.
It added with over 1,500 people expected to participate in both programmes, several roads including Jalan Setia 1, Simpang Jalan Ceria, and Simpang Bulatan Jalan Wawasan would be closed.
“Members of the public are urged to not park their car on the sidewalk and are advised to park their car at Pehin Seri Raja Mukah carpark building and New Mukah SCORE Administration carpark building,” it added.
However, the need for the road closure will depend on the current situation, based on the traffic flow assessment by the police.
“This is to ensure that it will not cause disturbance towards the road users.
“Members of the public are urged to comply with the traffic rules and to cooperate with the police in order to ensure that the programmes go as smoothly as possible,” it added.
