MUKAH: Three main roads here will be closed to facilitate traffic flow in conjunction with the Sarawak-level Maulidur Rasul Assembly and Parade 2024 on Sept 17.
Mukah District Police Chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said the road closures will start at 5 am and continue until the event concludes.
“The roads involved are Jalan Setia 1, Simpang Jalan Ceria, and Simpang Bulatan Jalan Wawasan.
“Meanwhile, roads that will be temporarily closed or diverted during the parade include Jalan Ceria, Jalan Bestari, Jalan Pinang, Lingkungan Setia Raja, Boulevard Setia Raja, Jalan Panggung, Jalan Pasar, Jalan Hj Zahwi, Jalan Pam Stesen, Jalan Pam Stesen Lama, Jalan Orang Kaya Setia Raja, and Jalan Setia 2,” he said in a statement today.
Rizal added that the event will be attended by the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
He also reminded the public not to park their vehicles along the roadside, which could cause traffic congestion.
“For those who wish to attend the event, they may park at the Pehin Setia Raja Building parking lot, the Sarawak State Government Administrative Centre Building Mukah Division, and Masjid Setia Raja.
“However, the need for road closures and diversions depends on the current situation, based on the assessment of traffic officers on duty, to ensure that daily activities of other road users are not disrupted,” he explained.
He further advised the public to follow traffic control signs and instructions given by police officers on duty.
