MIRI: Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) has decided to move a roadblock at Bakam road to a location near the Miri-Sibuti district border signboard.

This was announced by Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin who is also minister in-charge of the committee after he visited three roadblocks at Bakam road, Lambir and Beluru today.

Lee was accompanied by acting Miri Resident Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof during the visit.

“I’ve instructed acting Miri Resident to shift the roadblock location,” he said.

Lee revealed that the arrangement was made in response to feedbacks from road users regarding the location for the roadblock along Bakam road.

He added that based on information received from enforcement personnel manning the roadblocks, traffic flows have been reduced by 40 percent at Bakam and 20 percent at Lambir and Beluru roads since the conditional movement control order was enforced.
