MIRI: A man, pretending to be customer robbed a premises serving tea drinks on Thursday night (April 8), and escaped with RM400 cash.
The incident occurred in Marina Park here.
Police swiftly detained a suspect, aged 27 in Sungai Baong less than 24 hours after the incident.
Prior to the incident, around 9pm last Thursday, the premises was closing for business when a man came in and pretended to order for a drink.
The cashier, who was counting the day’s collection, told the man that they were not taking any more orders.
The man suddenly grabbed the cash from the cashier before fleeing.
Miri police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari confirmed the arrest.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code for robbery.
